The Amazing Nikon Coolpix P100
Nikon's Coolpix P100 is getting many great reviews. From what I saw about this camera this could be the only camera the serious ameature or prosumer photographer will ever need.
It has a focal length range of 26mm wide-angle through 678mm super-telephoto (35mm format equivalent). Another cool feature is the folding LCD screen which comes in handy for taking high/low angle shots.
Many users say that this coolpix feels like a dSLR, but you don't have to pay the dSLR price. One drawback is the battery must be charged in the camera unless a seperate charger is purchased. This is probably a good idea along with a couple extra batteries.
For a price tag of under $350, this is a great value. If you need more pro features and higher end quality then you may want to step up to the Nikon's pro level DSLR camera bodies. But for a great point and shoot that fits comfortably in your hands that gives you not only great quality photographs but some really cool features, this could be the ideal camera.
It is also easy to travel with since you won't need to take along a big assortment of lenses.
Here's some of the details of the Nikon Coolpix P100:
